Stingersuits - 24 year

Posted by

The inspiration for this week’s blog comes from France, their recent election, and the very fashionable First Lady, Brigitte Trogneux who, just quietly, would totally rock an Exotic Waterwear stinger suit! Take a look at her fashion sense from casual to elegant!

Apart from the fame Emmanuel Macron received for becoming the youngest head of state since Napoleon seized power in 1799, much of the media attention has been given to the 25-year age difference between he and his older wife.

This all seems a tad sexist for the same attention wasn’t given to Donald Trump and his wife Melania, even though it’s the same age gap. Brigette is labeled as a “Cougar” while Donald gets a pat on the back for landing a “Trophy Wife”!

Apparently, Emmanuel and Brigitte’s story is one of “love at first sight” however, due to the fact he was a 15-year-old drama student of her’s, it was indeed forbidden love.

When at 18 he moved to Paris, Brigitte couldn’t be without him and soon left her family to follow her heart. Last year, in an interview for Match magazine, she said, “Love took everything in its path and led me to divorce. It was impossible to resist him.”

It seems the feeling is mutual as prior to the election Emmanuel said, “She will be at my side because she has always been at my side”.

When I look at the relationship I share with Neil, I see numerous parallels and can whole heartedly relate to what they are fortunate enough to have. Personally, I really didn’t believe the fairy tale that was love, never mind “love at first sight” until I met Neil in Canada 25 years ago.

As with most couples, we were initially attracted to one another physically, however, after spending an hour chatting about anything and everything you could think of, we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives to together.

Interestingly, I could actually see myself growing old with this man. Like Brigitte I too followed my heart and married a younger man (except not quite the huge age gap). Doesn’t mean we are cougars, just smart!

Well, as it happens, on the 27th of this month we will be celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary. I know that 25 years is traditionally “Silver”. I propose we make 24 years “Stinger Suits”, nice and colourful!

Super Cool Cardinal Fish

In last week’s blog I highlighted just how far men have climbed up the evolutionary ladder and now we see them beginning to look after themselves (for example UPF 50+ Stinger suits for sun protection ) and taking a far greater role in the care and raising of their children. Some women may say “about time” however I say “good [...]

Real Men and Stinger Suits

This week’s blog is regarding men, “real men” and stinger suits. Years ago there was an expression “Real Men Don’t Eat Quiche” which came from a book of the same name. Basically it was a satirical look at male stereotypes, you know, beer swilling, steak chewing, flannel shirt types versus those more, shall I say, sophisticated men who knew to [...]

Trump - Love him or hate him

What an interesting time we live in! This past week has seen such a global uproar regarding the United States election with so many varying views, opinions and reactions from Americans, Canadians, Europeans, Australians; the global community. I have a good friend that I met on Facebook and I really quite like her assessment of the whole situation now. [...]

Well, blow me down, here’s another great use for our funky UPF50+ stinger suits! Clients have purchased them to protect their tattoos from the damaging rays of the sun; their ink is quite an investment so naturally anything to prevent it from fading is well worth it. Stunning Paige has amazing body art, amazing yoga talent; and is an all [...]

They're Back!

They’re Back! Here in Australia, as we leave the chilly grip of winter and embrace the warmer spring season, stinger suit orders increase and Neil ‘cracks the shits” over the magpies. All this fuss over a bird may come as a surprise to you in the northern hemisphere, however the Australian Magpie is a wee bit different.A most highly regarded [...]

Burkinis and Exotic Waterwear

From bikinis to stingersuits, it seems nothing has been as emotive to the beach going public as the controversial burkini ban in France and recent photos.First things first, what exactly is a burkini? Designed in Australia, put simply, it’s a style of swimming costume that you can wear which covers the arms, legs and hair. This, for some, [...]

Stinger suit gold

My Exotic Waterwear stinger suits keep me interested in any water activity news. Unlike most, I’m not a big Olympics fan but I like the water sports. With all the drama of the problems in Brazil, the reports of muggings and robberies, it was cool to hear a news story that made me smile and think “the world’s better [...]

Cindy and her Stingersuits

One of the wonderful things about owning Exotic Waterwear is meeting some of the beautiful people who are wearing my stingersuits. Everyone has a story about their life, and a chapter that is triumphant, or sad, or inspirational, or adventurous or just downright bloody frightening! I recently met a lovely lady from Hawaii who has [...]

Son of a Sea Biscuit

Son of a Sea BiscuitAs is our Saturday custom, after working the morning in Neil’s clinic, we rustle up some food, grab towels, ExoStinger stingersuits and make our way to our favorite, fairly deserted beach. Our last outing began as normal, however we had an interesting and rather entertaining interlude.Shortly after arriving on the beach and [...]
